First things first
This page is dedicated to communicate my views on a number of trading aspects. While no reader should simply copy any of these views, this might give you an indication of where my articles might be subjective and might open your eyes for seeing something from an angle different to your own.


Online trading services / Trading rooms
First of all I know that a lot of bad examples from this category exist and have existed. I know this from trying a few out myself, from personal conversations with good traders who started there and from 100's of hours going through forums.

Why would a trading room offer an actual opportunity to learn and to make money?
The one thing that I have been able to think of, while thinking this over many a time, is that some legitimate traders out that might actually seek towards a social aspect - in the realization that trading is most often a very solitary activity. Overall I would advice strong caution before joining any service or trading room, and maybe even better: avoid it completely. Go for forums, quality blogs and some of the "great" trading books(check for instance my Recommended materials).


Timeframes
Consensus seems to be that while the lower timeframes offer a great potential, this comes with a higher risk and lower predictability - as price action is said to be more arbitrary. Fundamentally I do not agree with this statement and I believe a look at a cross such as USDJPY with a 5M chart should settle the point(article to come on this).

For my own trading I have been focusing on the 1H charts perhaps more than any other timeframe. This because it offers a high degree of validity on price action levels combined with a trade flow that I've found attractive. By trade flow I'm referring to the process of getting through with trades - 1H trades will often turn out as intraday for me, while 4H or Daily will be interday.
